Founded by 19-year-old Julie-Ann Sia Thomas, a university student born and raised in Brisbane, Australia. Melanin Cosmetics is more than just a brand — it’s a movement. Created out of Julie-Ann's personal experiences as a woman of colour in Australia, our mission is simple: to provide high-quality beauty products that cater to ALL the diverse shades and unique needs of women of colour.

" I remember not long ago when women like me had to mix black eyeshadow with the lightest foundation to get an ashy match. I remember when women like me used to complain that their lipstick and gloss didn't suit their beautiful complexion".   

At Melanin Cosmetics, we believe that beauty should be for everyone, and we’re proud to offer a range of makeup products designed to enhance and celebrate melanin-rich skin tones. We understand that finding the perfect shade can be a challenge, which is why we’re dedicated to creating products that work with you, not against you. So far our range encompasses 3 shades of Lip Gloss and 10 different styles of faux mink lashes. We plan to extend our range to Foundation and concealer within the next two years. We will take our time to formulate these items as we consider health as the utmost importance. 

Our focus is on inclusivity — whether you’re rocking a bold lip or a natural lash, we’ve got you covered. Our products are thoughtfully formulated to deliver vibrant colours, long-lasting wear, and a flawless finish, all while keeping your skin’s health and radiance at the forefront.
